Vineyards and not cellars give rise to great
wines.
This saying, since time
began, has been the reference point of LA PULEDRA farm company policy. First of
all, vineyard cultivation takes place in full respect of natural equilibrium: fertilization is made exclusively employing organic material, the use of weed-killers is forbidden and grass mowing is carried out through vineyard grass planting
technique.
To combat diseases and
vermins, quarry sulphur and lime copper (Bordeaux mixture) are
used; during the pruning season a low number of buds (8-10) is left and during summer a further bunch of grape thinning out is made in order to get from grapevines the
quality/quantity best ratio enabling the bunches of grape to reach the perfect
ripening. The company purpose is the constant product
improvement, by means of a strict grape selection and working in full respect of various winemaking
stages. Nothing is final, the company knows that higher qualitative levels can be mainly achieved through the constant research of a better
product.
